Anti-Vaxxers Are Sounding More and More Ridiculous
Black people have a right to be skeptical of America’s healthcare system — but not vaccine ignorance that puts lives at risk
There’s a fine line between holding a healthy amount of skepticism and being a paranoid, ignorant fool on the matter of life and death. When it comes to the best way to prevent falling victim to a plague, even some of my favorite people can’t find the right side to be on. Let them tell it, being selfish and arrogant in a time of massive pain and loss is a testament to individual freedom and “God’s will.”
“The vaccine does not help me-to-you. Me getting the vaccine only helps me-to-me,” Tank explained in a since-deleted Instagram post shared earlier this week that continues to live in infamy and on Twitter. “The vaccine is personal, which is why it should be a personal choice. If I decide to bet on my own immune system, that’s my choice.”
If Tank has attended any public school in America, he has been required to be vaccinated. If Tank has performed abroad, at least some of those countries likely required him to get certain vaccinations before entering. Should Tank plan to ever perform internationally again in the future, chances are he’s going to have to get vaccinated.
